AMERICAN POLICY
RECOGNITION OF DANISH MINISTER. WASHINGTON. April 11. After conferring with President Roosevelt, the Danish Minister, Mr Bekauffrnann, announced that the President was continuing to recognise him diplomatically. Officials told the “New York Times” privately that they believed the United States would invoke the Monroe Doctrine in connection with Greenland if necessary, but had no intention of issuing a declaration at present. Iceland ' possibly could be included, though it did not lie wholly within the hemisphere.
