STATEMENT BY PRIME MINISTER. MILLION FORMS EXPECTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. The decision to make a comprchenI sivc survey of manpower, which had ' been started by die use of a suitable 'questionnaire submitted with the annual declaration of income for social security purposes, was referred to by the Prime Minister. Mr Fraser, in an address to the National Recruiting Council in Wellington yesterday. Mr Fraser said that forms must be submitted by the end of May and preparations were in hand for the compilation of the whole of the data as soon as the work could be done. Every form of modern office machinery would be used to dispose of this work as rapidly as possible as it was expected that nearly 1.000.000 cases would have to be dealt with. With the steps already taken and the comprehensive information that would be secured by this survey, the Government would be in a position satisfactorily to plan for the official utilisation of all its resources to ensure that New Zealand could play its part in the Empire’s war effort.
