“MEET DR. CHRISTIAN.” "Meet Doctor Christian,” starring I Jean Hersholt. will be finally shown at i the State Theatre tonight. There is also a really excellent, selection of featurettes, including travel talk, comedy, newsreels and cartoon. Plans are at the theatre, telephone 1322. "CHARLIE CHANG.” Owing to the keen demand throughout New Zealand for "Hotel for Women.” the Masterton season has been postponed and in its place at the State Theatre tonight will be snown "Charlie Chang in the City of Darkness." This picture is one of the most thrilling ever placed before picture patrons, and Sydney Toler is seen at his best. The acting all through is of a high order and the interest of the audience is always held. Those who have followed up the Chang series of pictures will be delighted with this latest effort of Sydney Toler. In other parts of the Dominion the picture has drawn crowded houses. The supporting feature is “Honeymoon’s Over." with Stewart Erwin and Marjorie Weaver in the leading roles. This is a picture which will immediately appeal not only for its theme but for the excellence of the acting. There is a good supporting programme.
