MEN OF TOMORROW

♦ ALLIED EDUCATIONAL PLANS. BUILDING UP UNDERSTANDING. (“Times-Age” Special.) RUGBY, April 9. The President of the Board of Education, Mr H. Ramsbotham, said it was the object of Britain and France to hold together in order to make a permanent contribution to European security and civilisation. To do this effectively it was necessary to begin with the children. “There may be a few people who cry that we are going to introduce propaganda into the schools,” he said. “I assure you that nothing in all the projects discussed in t Paris last week could possibly be described as propaganda. We are not going to borrow anything from the technique of the Reich or the Soviet and try to warp our children's minds. We are not going to instil into them that we and the French are perfect and that other nations are beyond redemption. Anything of this kind would be a gross sin against the very integrity for which we are fighting. ’What we are going to do is to attempt to give the children of both countries greater knowledge of the other country, its ideals, culture and achievement.”
