BASKETBALL

GAME IN MASTERTON. PROSPECTS FOR SEASON GOOD. Indoor Basketball proved popular last year and the prospects for this season are very encouraging. The games this year will be controlled by a sub-committee of the Wairarapa Interhouse Association in conjunction’ with the Y.M.C.A. So far this season the committee has heard of sixteen girls’ teams and eight men’s teams who desire to compete. The girls’ games will be played in two grades there being one game each Thursday evening. The games will continue until the end of September. A keen supporter of the Interhouse Association has given a handsome challenge cup for the girls' A grade competition, and it is hoped to procure suitable trophies for the girls' B grade and the men’s A grade competitions.
