MARTINBOROUGH
SCHOOL ASSOCIATION ANNUAL MEETING. ("Times-Age” Special.) The annual meeting of the House and School Association was held in the school last night. The president’s report showed another very satisfactory year’s work and the balance sheet disclosed a sound financial position. Mrs E. R. Burch, who has been president of the Association for the last five years, resigned from the position. Mr H. L. Griffiths, on behalf of the School Committee, expressed, gratitude for the fine work Mrs Burch had done for the school, and he expressed the committee’s regret at her resignation. Mr D. C. Pryor, headmaster of the school also expressed appreciation of the splendid work of Mrs Burch and that of the Association during the year. Mrs D. Wilton, who had been secretary for the past two years, also resigned. Both retiring members were recipients of beautiful bouquets. The election of officers for this year resulted as follows: —Patroness, Mrs Tyler; president. Mrs L. J. Chapman: vice-presidents, Mesdames Griffiths. Coutts. Burch; secretary, Mrs R. Lawrence; committee. Mesdames Banks. Campbell, Johns, Blackwell, Weir, Knell, Sadd. Hayman, Skill. Dale: auditor. Miss ,1. Grant.
AILSA MCDONALD CUPS YESTERDAY’S COMPETITIONS. The athletic competition between the Featherston and Martinborough High Schools for the Ailsa McDonald Memorial Cups held at the school yesterday resulted in a win for the Martinborough boys while the girls' teams drew.
