MENACE TO HOLLAND
SINISTER NAZI STATEMENT WILD ALLEGATION AGAINST BRITAIN. TALK OF "CRIMINAL ATTEMPTS. (Received This Day, 9.25 a.m.) LONDON, April 9. A German radio message picked up in London, gave the first hint of possible German action against Holland. Il said: “There is great fear that Holland has now become a victim of Britain's ‘violent policy.’ Germany will answer such criminal attempts blow for blow.”
GERMANS IN OSLO EVACUATION HALTED. NAZI BECOMES CHIEF OF POLICE. (Received This Day, 10.45 a.m.) LONDON, April 9. The British United Press Oslo correspondent says British and German planes fought over Oslo in the afternoon. One crashed but its identity is not known. The German command ordered a cessation of the evacuation ol Oslo and instructed those who hac departed to return. The police chief at Oslo resigned and was replaced by a German. Anti-aircraft guns are reported to have brought down two German planes. The Norwegian Army is manning a line between Oslo and. Hamar, to cover inland mobilisation.
