BOYS AND GIRLS’ CLUBS SUCCESSFUL YEAR RECORDED. The following is the annual report of the Featherston district group of the Wairarapa Boys and Girls Agricultural Clubs: — Another successful year has to be recorded, there being an increased number of entries in the different projects. that is calf-rearing, lamb rearing, and crop growing, controlled by the group. The finances of the group are in a sound condition. The prize money was increased during the year to stimulate greater interest among the children. A most successful field day was held at Kahutara during December, when there was a large attendance of farmers and others interested in the agricultural projects of school children. During the year, Mr J. T. Brophy, president of the group, left the district and his place was filled by Mr G. T. Cole. We wish to record the splendid spade work carried out for the group by Mr Brophy. An important part of the work is that of judging the live stock and the root crops. This work was undertaken by Mr M. Parker, Mr A. Robbins and Mr F. C. Brockett to whom our thanks are given. Numerous donors of cash and trophies help to keep the work of the group going. As in the 'past, we have been well supported. This year a challenge cup was presented to the group by a well-known supporter. A new constitution for the group was drafted during the year. A list of honorary members was opened and we hope to see an increase in the number of these during 1940. In conclusion we wish to thank all donors, the Press, the children for the way their projects were completed, delegates to central executive and members of the committee. some of whom had to travel long distances to attend meetings. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr R. A. Matthews; president, Mr G. T. Cole (re-elected); vice-presidents, Messrs H. C. Playle and R. R. Hardy; secretary-treasurer, Mr J. E.
