COMMUNIST PARTY
ACTION BY AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT AGAINST INTERFERENCE WITH WAR EFFORT. TOLERATION OF POLITICAL ORGANISATION. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received This Dav, 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY. This Day. The “Herald's” Canberra correspondent says it is understood that the Federal Government has decided to take action to prevent Communist organisations or individual members of Communist organisations, or individual members of the Communist Party, from engaging in activities damaging to Australia’s war effort. No action is likely to be taken to suppress lhe party, as a purely political organisation, provided its activities are conducted by constitutional methods and do not infringe the laws of the Commonwealth or those of the States.
