MASTERTON SCHOOLS

NEW BUILDING AT WEST. PLANS BEING PREPARED. Plans and specifications are being prepared for the new West School, which will be on the lines of the re-cently-erected open-air type of building at Lansdowne. The new building will contain five classrooms, the same as the Lansdowne School. The building will face the sun and on that account it will be back on to the road, though the main entrance will face the street. Consideration of the proposed renovation and remodelling of Central School is still before the Education Department. It is understood that the matter is awaiting the Minister's approval in respect to additional expenditure involved.
