SHOOTING SEASON
CONDITIONS FOR WELLINGTON DISTRICT. FORTNIGHT ONLY FOR WATER-FOWL. The conditions governing Iho coming game shooting season in the Wellington Acclimatisation Society’s district have been set out in the ’■Gazette." The season for hares, cock pheasants, Californian and Australian quail is from May 4 to July 31 (both days inclusive) and that for grey duck, mallard duck', shoveller duck. pukoko and black swan from May 4 Io May lit (both days inclusive).
No person shall in any one day take or kill more than two head of cock pheasants, three head of black swan, fifteen head in all of grey duel;, mallard duck, and/or spoonbill duck and live head of pukoko. Hare arc no! protected in the Wairarapa district. The fee for licences is 30s but in Iho case of any person in receipt of an age benefit or a miner’s benefit under the Social Security Act. a licence will lie issued for £l. No person is allowed to take or kill native or imported game on May. 4 5 and 6 while occupying any stand, hide or position which has duly been claimed by any other licence-holder.
