FINAL DAY'S RESULTS. PHALERON WINS SIRES PRODUCE STAKES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH, April 7. The Manawatu Racing Club’s meeting was concluded yesterday. The amount handled by the totalisator for the day was £32,228, an increase for the day of £2293. The total for the meeting was £52,456 10s, compared with £52,979 10s, a decrease of £523. The judicial committee met id consider the start of the Longburn Handicap. in which Raeburn and Clessamor got completely left after a long delay. The evidence of the. starter. Mr W. The Auckland colt Phaleron was always going like a winner in the Sires' Produce Stakes at Awapuni on Saturday. alongside Chary, in behind Black Robe and Courting, but he hung badly making the turn, and gave Lambourn coming up behind, a good chance to get to him. Phaleron was also inclined to loaf,a bit when he reached the front, and his backers were a bit. anxious over the last bit, but a reminder with the stick was sufficient to keep his head in front. This pair finished well clear of the others. Chary hanging on for third from Black- Robe. Rider Injured. While working the horse Lindrum at the Awapuni track on Friday. Frank Hanrahan was thrown on to a hurdle brace. He was admitted to Palmerston North Hospital with head injuries. His condition last night was satisfactory.
