FEILDING SALE. BUSINESS COMPARATIVELY QUIET. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING. April 5. Business was comparatively quiet at Feilding sale today, a short yarding of sheep and a moderate one of cattleselling slowly. For good quality stock, however, values remained firm. Fat sheep: An unexpectedly short entry of mutton was forward in. this section. The condition and finish in some cases indicated that the best lines of ewes had already gone, and lambs, also, were generally unfinished. The best lambs made 20s 2d to 21s Gd. second grade 18s 3d to 18s 9d, others 16s 8d to 17s lOd; extra prime ewes, 22s 8d to 235, prime 20s 7d, light 15s to 16s. unfinished Ils 6d to 14s 7d; prime wethers. 23s 7d to 255. lighter prime 22s to 23s 3d. others'2ls. Store sheep: Some good lines of young ewes here attracted the attention of buyers, but, generally, the tone of the market was much quieter than at recent sales. Lambs were in short supply. The best two-tooth ewes made 21s 6d, second quality 26s to 28s 2d. poor 20s; good four-tooth ewes, 30s 6d. fair 21s 9d to 225: extra good six-tooth ewes. 30s; good four-year ewes, 21s 9d; best four to five-year ewes, 18s to 19s 7d, fair 16s to 17s 9d. others 13s 6d to 15s lOd; forward wethers, 18s 3d; good ewe lambs. 25s 2d; wether Jambs. 10s Id to 12s Gd; b.f. wether lambs. 15s 9d: fattening ewes from 7s 7d. Store cattle: Quite a %ood range of station cattle was yarded, but values, generally, were low. Mostly only the young stock was sold, some of the pens representing good value at the price paid. The best two and a halfyear steers made £6 ss. Dairy cattle: Prices showing a substantial increase for the best sorts. Good springing cows made £9 to £9 15s, others £5 to £8; extra good cows in milk, £l2 15s; springing heifers, £6 12s 6d.

Fat cattle: The good quality lines sold well, but the sale was slow for unfinished lines. The prices showed a slight advance on those of last week. Prime heifers made £8 12s 6d to £9 10s. light prime £6 10s to £7 17s, unfinished, £5 5s to £6: prime cows. £8 10s to £9 2s 6d. medium £7 10s to £8 2s 6d. lighter £6 to £7; ex-dairy cows. £4 5s to £6 15s; medium prime steers, £lO 17s, light, £8 19s. unfinished £5 Us to £5 17s 6d. Pigs: The usual brisk sale took place for pigs. Good weaners made 9s to 12s; slips, 14s to 15s 6d; stores, 21s to 265; porkers, £ 1 8s to £ 2 3s 6d.
