Before his departure for London, the British Ambassador Sir Hughe Knatch-bull-Hugessen, had an interview with the Prime Minister, General Inonu, and the Foreign Minister, M. Sarajoglu. A spokesman declared that the Ambassador was informed that Turkey was preserving her decision to remain outside the war and did not intend to enter the war against Russia. She was determined to live peacefully and to work for the maintenance of peace. He added that at present there was no danger of war in the Balkans.
