MASTERTON PARK' CLUB. OFFICIAL CLOSING OF SEASON. The official closing of the Masterton Park Tennis Club took place in glorious weather on Saturday afternoon. There was a large attendance of members and visitors and an enjoyable time was spent. The president (Mr. L. S. Nicol) presented trophies won during the season and in the course of his remarks, congratulated the club's B team on its win in the inter-club competition. Mr Nicol thanked the Borough staff for the attention given to the courts, and the committee. He stated that several members had left on active service. He congratulated the prize-winners, and presented the trophies as follow:— Men’s championship singles, Mr. N. O’Kane; men's handicap singles, Mr. O'Kane; men's handicap doubles, Messrs. O'Kane and Morgan; combined handicap doubles, O'Kane and Miss Bannister; ladies’ championship singles. Miss M. Pownall; ladies’ handicap singles, Miss Pownall; ladies’ handicap doubles, Misses Reader and West. Afternoon tea was served.
