SWEDEN AND THE FINNISH WAR REJECTION OF DALADIER’S APPEAL. MADE KNOWN BY PREMIER. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright, (Received This Day, 11.35 a.m.) STOCKHOLM. April 1. Giving Parliament a review of the Russo-Finnish war so far as it affected Sweden, Mr Hansson said Sweden had twice made it clear to Finland that no military action could be expected from Sweden if the Aaland Islands were attacked. Sweden clearly informed England and France that while she was prepared to facilitate the transit of material and volunteers, she did not desire to appear as a participant in general international action. M. Daladier telegraphed a personal appeal to King Gustav regarding facilities for the passage of Allied troops across Sweden. King Gustav replied expressing a desire that the Allied plan should not be realised, in view of the possible consequences to Scandinavia.
