GERMAN SHIPPING

MOVE CONTEMPLATED FROM ADRIATIC WITH CARGOES OF BAUXITE. REPORTED CO-OPERATION BY ITALY. Ry Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Dav. 1.15 p.m.) LONDON. April 1. “The Times” Dubrovnik correspondent says the possibility of British action in the Adriatic is canvassed, following on the disclosure that 29 German ships plan to load 50,000 tons of bauxite (hydrate of alumina) from Dalmatia for Germany. The first ship, the steamer Ankara, slipped out from Trieste to Dubrovnik keeping within territorial waters and is at present loading four thousand tons. The Yugoslav light cruiser Dalmatia arrived and moored alongside the Ankara. An Italian naval training ship is expected soon. A further 28 German merchantmen in Trieste are expected to follow the Ankara. It is believed that this attempt to relieve the congestion of railways to Germany directly results from Italian co-operation.
