The Acting Minister of Health (Mr Primrose) announced that the supply of milk to all consumers under the control of the Milk Board in Sydney and Newcastle would be rationed 20 per cent until arragements could be made to transport supplies from country districts. The Milk Board informed Mr Primrose that although a shortage had been expected for at least eight weeks, milk supplies had dropped so suddenly that consumers could not be given even 21 hours' notice of rationing.
