GENEROUS DONATION

MR. L. LEFEAUX’S GIFT TO RED CROSS BRITISH AND FRENCH SOCIETIES (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. The year’s salary of £5OOO which Mr L. Lefeaux, Governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, is giving to assist the national war effort, is being paid in instalments to the National Patriotic Fund Board, for the benefit of the British Red Cross Society and the Fernch Red Cross Society. The British society is to receive £3OOO and the French society £2OOO. Both societies have expressed their gratitude for the gift. Out of the £3OOO for the British Red Cross Society two ambulances will be built and equipped, and hospital comforts will be sent to the French Red Cross Society.
