ORDER OF DRUIDS
STONEHENGE LODGE. MEETING IN MASTERTON. The fortnightly meeting of the Stonehenge Lodge of Druids was held in the Foresters’ Hall last night, the A.D.. Bro. A. G. Swinn presiding over a large attendance. Prior to the commencement of lodge business, the A.D. referred to the death of the late Premier, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage. As a mark of respect, the lodge was adjourned for a few minutes the members standing in silence. The District President of No. 1 district forwarded a report on the lodges of the district. The secretary reported that twelve members had declared on the sick benefit of the lodge and favourable reports were received concerning their progress. It was decided to support. Grand Lodge in the proposal that the sum oi £26.000 be transferred to the Soldiers on Active Service Fund, for the purpose of paying contributions of members while on active service overseas. The A.D. extended a welcome to several members who had been absent from the lodge room for some time, and said he hoped that they would attend lodge meetings in future. Sick pay and accounts amounting to £23 4s lOd were passed. The A.D. referred to the Diamond Jubilee Fund and stated that donations to the same were coming in steadily. The Diamond Jubilee of the Stonehenge Lodge will take place on November sth of (his year. It was decided to hold a social at the close of business on the next lodge night, and it is anticipated that there will be another large attendance.
