ST. JOHN AMBULANCE
CADET DIVISION. SUCCESSFUL DANCE. The dance held in the Masonic Hall, Masterton. by the Cadet Division of the St John Ambulance Brigade on Saturday night was an outstanding success. The hall was filled and the music supplied by Jack Barnes' Rhythm Boys was greatly appreciated by the dancers. The gathering was ably controlled by Mr Pat Ward, as M.C.. and supper was served by a ladies' committee. Monte Carlo competitions were won by Miss Alma Burgess and Mr M. McMullen. and Mrs McCormbie and partner. Songs and tap dances were given by Master Daniel Davey, and were warmly applauded. Messrs Morrie Hunt and C. Jackson played extras. Mr C. S. McQuade, Cadet Superintendant ‘after thanking patrons for their support, announced that the committee had decided to hold another dance in a fortnight's time, but regretted that the evening was the final night for two members of the committee. Mr G. J. Swain, who had been a member since the inception of the Cadet Division, would leave on Friday to join the Royal New Zealand Air Force. Christchurch, and Mr R. McPhail would shortly take up duties with the N.Z. Medical Corps.
