ADDINGTON SALE. EACONERS IMPROVE IN PRICE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, March 27. The sheep entries were much smaller at today’s Addington stock market, a result, mainly, of holiday attractions not yet being over. About 10,000 head were forward in the store pens. For the better classes of local two-tooths and a number of strong-woolled sheep from the Chatham Islands and elsewhere. prices remained at last week’s levels. The two-tooths from the Chathams sold at from 28s to 31s, and those from the North Island at 275. The North Canterbury two-tooth Corriedales sold at 17s 6d to 21s 6d, and the best four-year half-breds at 15s. There was little attractive in the entry outside of these quoted. Butchers’ fat lambs sold at up to 20s a head dearer, there being few forward. Exporters were inactive for the lighter sorts. The rat sheep comprised about 3500 head. The small proportion of prime, wethers improved by 2s or more a head, and the ewes by Is 6d. The secondary classes were little changed. Exporters took only the ewes selling at below schedule and not many of those. A draft of Chatham sheep sold at from 29s lOd to 355. Good wethers sold at from 26s to 30s, with the average sorts down to 225, and light down to 17s. The best of the ewes sold at from 21s to 245, with a few of the tops at 26s lOd, the mediums at 15s to 17s, and inferior down to Bs. In the fat cattle section, 450 head were penned, with more good steers forward than usual. These sold at from £l4 4s to £l6 10s, with some pens of the tops going at up to £lB 17s 6d. Ordinary sorts made £lO 10s to £l2, and light down to £8 ss. The best cows sold to £lO, with the tops at £l2 the mediums at £6 to £B. and rough sorts down to £4 10s. The heifers sold at about 20s better than these prices. Good beef ranged at from 35s to 37s 6d a 1001 b. with a few special pens going at 40s. The best heifer beef made from 31s to 345, and cow beef to 325. with inferior down to 255.

The market for porkers was unchanged. Prices ranged from £2 2s 6d to £3 2s 6d. an average price a lb of 7d to 7J d. Baconers improved by 2s to 3s a head, prices ranging from £2 19s 6d to £5 4s 6d. to average 6Jd to 7.1 d a lb.

MASTERTON SALE. BIDDING RESTRICTED. The Associated Auctioneers report having held their weekly sale at Masterton yesterday. Only a small yarding came forward and there was also a small attendance. Bidding was restricted and prices were equal to last week, although the quality was not up to the mark yesterday. Owing to the lack of competition the fat market was much easier.
