PATRIOTIC APPEAL
FIGHTING SERVICES WELFARE FUND
SUM OF OVER £50.000 IN HAND,
WITH SEVENTY TOWNS YET TO REPORT.
The Fighting Services Welfare Appeal conducted by the Y.M.C.A. and Salvation Army as I lie collecting authorities for the National .Patriotic Fund Board is showing the very satisfactory total of £50,368 collected up till Wednesday, when a general survey was made of results from various parts of the Dominion. Returns were available from 38 collecting centres, but 70 more towns have still to make their reports. The above total is exclusive of the generous donation of £19,000 by Ml' T. H. Lowry. Hawke's Bay. for the establishment of a Y.IVLC.A. Hut overseas.
