CENTRAL SCHOOL

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the Central School Committee was held last night. Mr J. MeV. Calwell- presiding, there being also present Messrs A. V. Dixon, J H. Cole. A. J. Gibbs, F. J. Wesney. G. R. Beacroft, A. Newman. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs Nicol and Braggins. The headmaster reported that the present roil number was: Main school. 563; side, school, 67. The average attendance was very satisfactory. He also reported that there had been no staff changes. The childrens visit on Monday to the Exhibition in Wellington proved to be a very happy occasion. Mr H. J. Jones had made a generous donation towards the enjoyment of the children. The secretary was directed to thank Mi Jones for his kindness, which was much appreciated. Messrs Dixon. Cole and Wesney were appointed visiting members for the month.
