COLLEGE CRICKET

WAIRARAPA v HUTT VALLEY. MATCH AT MASTERTON. The Wairarapa College first eleven is playing Hutt Valley in a cricket match at the College grounds today, in brilliant sunshine. There is a good attendance to watch play, which up to the time of going to press was fairly slow. The umpires are Messrs F. Dohnt and Philpotts. Wairarapa College won the toss and elected to bat. The fall of wickets was 1/2G. 2/48, 3/36, 4/47, 5/126. The principal scorer was Q. Schofield, who put on 42 before going out to a leg before decision from Palmer. Wilson, M. Schofield and Taylor all reached double figures. After the luncheon adjournment College resumed, Wilson and Hoar making a last wicket stand, which up till 2 o’clock had not been broken, carrying the score past the double century.
