Odd Fellows' Conference.
Delegates representative of the Manchester Unity, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, in the Hawke's Bay district, assembled at Waipawa to attend the sixty-second annual districtconference. A roll of honour containing the names of 51 members from the district who have enlisted was read, members standing and givinghearty cheers. Dealing with the war measures proposals as released by the board of directors, the conference resolved to affirm the principles affecting soldier members as adopted by the order in Now Zealand during the last war. Considerable discussion took place on remits dealing with members joining the lodge in the first place on the half-benefit scale, and it was decided to make application tqrthe actuary for preparation of a new table. It was decided to set up a sub-committee to investigate the future welfare of the juvenile movement in the district. A proposal introduced by Loyal Woodville Lodge that the system of representation on the district management committee be altered by increasing the number of elected members to six. two to be elected from the northern, central and southern areas, received the support of the conference.
