SWIMMING
MASTERTON CLUB. COMPETITIONS FOR TUESDAY. The Masterton Swimming Club will hold, what will probably be the final competitions of the 1939-40 season in the Dixon Street Baths tomorrow evening, commencing at 7.30 o'clock. The remaining club championships will be decided. The following is the programme: —75 yards junior boys’ freestyle championship: 75 yards intermediate girls’ freestyle championship; 75 yards ladies’ freestyle championship; 75 yards men’s freestyle championship; intermediate girls' diving championship (1 standing. 1 running. 1 optional, 1 compulsory dive, pike); 25 yards junior boys’ handicap; 25 yards ladies’ backstroke championship; 25 yards men's freestyle championship; open dive (1 running, 1 optional, 11 screw); 25 yards junior girls’ handicap; 50 yards intermediate boys’ handicap. Following the competitions tomorrow evening a social function will bo held in the Kia Ora Club’s rooms when the senior members will entertain Lieutenant G. Gaze and Privates H. .Dixon and P. O’Neill, three club members, who are attached to the Second Echelon. It is hoped that there will be a full attendance of senior members to demonstrate the club’s pride in its soldier members. The club has recently become indebted to several wellwishers who have made donations towards the funds, Messrs H. E. Pither, F. Pickering and V. McKeague earning the club’s thanks in this respect. Trophies and prizes will be presented at a dance which will be held at an early date. MONTHLY AGGREGATES.
