WOMEN’S INSTITUTE
OPAKI MEETING. ELECTION OF, OFFICERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The annual mealing of the Opaki Women’s Institute was held at the home of Mrs Wingate. In the absence of Mrs Wingate, Mrs Beetham (vicepresident) took the chair. The annual report and balance sheet were read and showed that a satisfactory- year had been experienced. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the president and secretary for their work during the year. The following officers were elected: President. Mrs Beetham: hon secretary, Miss Robinson: committee, Mesdames Buick, Adcock. Harris. Malmo. Miller. Rayner. Wingate. M. Wyeth, Miss Robinson.
Members decided to send two parcels to soldiers overseas.
The hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs Harris and Mrs Cooper. The April meeting will be held at the home of Mrs Cooper.
