TENNIS MATCH WIN FOR LOCAL CLUB. (“Times-Age” Special.) The return match between the Featherston and Kahautara tennis teams was played yesterday on the Featherston courts. Featherston won by 23 setsand 216 games to Kahautara’s 9 sets and 167 games. The following are the results, Featherston players mentioned first in each case: Ladies singles: Mrs Baker lost to Miss C. Playle and J. Pope 9/5. GOLF CLUB ANNUAL MEETING. At the annual meeting of the Featherston Golf Club Mr J. W. Card (president) presided over a good attendance of members. Apologies' for absence were received from Messrs T. Lang, W, H. Rowles, Roy Donald and W. Jeffrey. The annual report, statement of receipts and expenditure, and balance sheet were read and adopted. The New Zealand Golf Association wrote that it had been decided to ask clubs to hold a competition, the proceeds to be given to the. National Patriotic Fund. It was decided to hold a mixed foursome on the opening day. The New Zealand Golf Association advised that the insurance fee for playing members against third party risks is now one shilling and twopence per member. It was decided to insure playing members, men and women, and to add the fee to their subscriptions. The opening day was fixed for the first Saturday, April 6, at 1.30. One member’s resignation was accepted with regret. Miss B. Bloxam and Mr L. Duffy were elected members. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr J. W. Card; vice-presidents, Miss Card, Messrs D. H. S. Riddiford, G. S. Sharp. W. H. Rowles, H. R. Bloxam, N. C. C. Shepherd; auditor, Mr J. M. G. McKenzie; secretary, Mr J. B. Davis; treasurer, Mr K. H. It was decided that the subscriptions be the same as last year, namely, men, £3. reducibile to £2 10s; women, £1 ss. reducible to £1 Is. Honorary: Men, £1 ss: ladies. 10s Cd; junior members, 7s 6d. Cricket. The Pirates and Belvedere teams met at Featherston during the weekend. Belvedere batted first and scored 127 (C. Parker 42, D. Phelps 30. J. Fitzgerald 19; Loader 3 for 21, Freu 4 for 34). Pirates replied with 128 (D. Howell 63, M. Fuge 22. J. Loader 17; Phelps G for 30. A. Reid 2 for 42). Croquet. In an Association A grade button match played on the Haunui green, the holders, Mrs Barry and Miss Esma Card, defeated the challengers, Mrs Saunders and Miss Lyford (Featherston) by 26 to 15.
