Yogi. Beau Vite led all the way in the North Island Challenge Stakes and won by two lengths. Density accounted for the Suburban Handicap, winning by three lengths from Amigo. The cup at the Ohinemuri meeting on Saturday was won by Gold Vaals, an outsider, while Palustre was first home in the St Patrick’s Handicap, heading Black Thread by two lengths. Cymric, second favourite, won the principle event at the Westport races on Saturday, and Rebel Chief was first home in the Scanlon Handicap.
