OBITUARY
MR JAMES DAY. The death occurred in Greytown yesterday of Mr James Day. of Albert Street, at an advanced age. The late Mr Day. who lived in Masterton for the past GO years, was born in Kent. England, and came to New Zealand 65 years ago in the first steamship. Mr Day was a well-known old identity of the district. He is survived by a widow and a daughter. Mrs E. L. Ordash. of Wellington, another daughter. Mrs G. Fielding, of Palmerston North, having predeceased Mr Day two years ago. There arc four grand and four great-grandchildren. The funeral will take place tomorrow. leaving the premises of H. Trotman and Son. Greytown, al 2 p.m. for the Greytown Cemetery. MR C. H. ROBBINS. The death occurred last night of Mr Charles Henry Robbins, a well-known resident of the Masterton district. The late Mr Robbins was born in Melbourne. Australia, 69 years ago and followed the occupation of a goldminer for some years. Coming to New Zealand in 1916. he settled in the Wairarapa and managed the poultry farm of Mr W. R. Kemball. Later Mr Robbins had been poultry farming on his own account until the last few years. He is widely known in the poultry industry. He is survived by a widow. He was an uncle of Mr W. R. Kemball. formerly of Masterton. and now a resident of Australia.
The funeral will take place tomorrow. leaving the chapel of Hyde’s Funeral Services, Ltd., after a service commencing at. 2 p.m.. for the Masterton Cemetery.
