The Prime Minister, Mr Menzies, has announced the reconstruction of the Commonwealth Ministry, consequent upon the coalition of the United Australia and Country Parties, as follows: Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Co-ordination and Information: Mr R. G. Menzies. Minister of Commerce and Navy: Mr A. G. Cameron.

Attorney-General and Minister of Industry: Mr W. M. Hughes. Minister of Army and Repatriation: Brigadier G. A. Street. Vice-President of the Executive Council: Sir Henry Gullett. Minister of Supply and Development and Social Services: Sir Frederick Stewart. Postmaster-General and Minister of Health: Mr H. V. C. Thorby. Treasurer: Mr P. C. Spender. Minister of Trade and Customs: Senator George McCleay. Minister of External Affairs: Mr J. McEwan. Minister of Interior: Senator H. S. Foil. Minister of Air and Civil Aviation: Mr J. V. Fairbairn. Ministers without portfolio: Senators P. Mcßride and H. Collett, and Messrs A. Fadden and H. Nock. Country Party members are Messrs Cameron, Thorby, McEwan (a former Minister of the Interior), Fadden and Nock. The selections follow general Australian expectations. Mr Spender, a U.A.P. member, was formerly actingTreasurer.
