NEW AIR BOMB

STORY OF HITLER'S “SECRET WEAPON. DANGEROUS TO CARRY IN PLANES. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. WASHINGTON. March 14. Mr Lester Barlow, a specialist in aerial bombs, testifying before the Senate Military Affairs Committee, said that Herr Hitler’s “secret weapon” is probably an air-mine filled with liquid oxygen and some form of carbon.

The Germans, he said, experimented with it at the siege of Barcelona in the Spanish war. It had not been used since because, though it had destructive effects, it was highly dangerous to carry in an aeroplane.

Mr Barlow described a similar bomb which he wants to demonstrate to the Government, claiming that it is vastly superior to the German weapon.
