INTEREST FREE LOAN
MADE BY THE MAYOR OF MASTERTON FOR DURATION OF WAR. LEAD TO THE WAIRARAPA. "Following yesterday’s magnificent demonstration,” the Mayor of Masterton. Mr. T. Jordan, stated today, "I have today sent a cheque for £5OO to the Minister of Finance as a loan free of interest for the duration of the war as a small personal contribution to the defence of the wonderful heritage we have received from the pioneers. I have done it in the expectation that others in this wealthy district more fortunately situated than I am will follow the lead.”
