CENTENNIAL CONCERT
PERFORMANCE IN OPERA HOUSE LAST NIGHT.
There was a large attendance at the Opera House last night to witness a splendid programme provided by local Maoris and supporting artists as a Centennial celebration. The first half of the programme was provided by a Maori concert party, the second half being put on by local artists. As the performers appeared they were introduced by a quotation from the classics, by Mr. J. A. Kennedy. At the interval, the Mayor, Mr. T. Jordan, expressed appreciation to the Maoris for their splendid, support, to Mr. J. A. Kennedy for his valuable services and to the performers for their tine entertainment.
