GOLF FEATHERSTON CLUB ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report of the Featherston Golf Club states: The committee has pleasure in again congratulating the club on adding another successful year to its records. During the season, matches were played with Carterton, Greytown and Martinborough clubs, eight playing at home and eight away. This arrangement is necessary to save congestion, and it is to be hoped that the oil fuel restrictions'will not be the means of discontinuing these matches. The home and away matches with Tui Glen and Pirinoa were also played.during the season, the players having a most enjoyable time. The Labour Day week-end (fifth annual) tournament again proved very popular; quite a number of entries being received from the neighbouring clubs —a decided improvement'on the previous year. The club is again very fortunate in securing the Gum Grove links and desire to express their appreciation to Mr. Roy Donald for the continued use of the playing area, and the assistance given during the past season. That the club has a very keen and enthusiastic member iu Mr. H. Lovegrove, is evidenced by the fact that he has kept all the greens in excellent order during the off season. Due to his efforts, the greens are now in excellent playing condition, and as the fairways have also been attended to by Mr. Roy Donald, the coming season should prove very successful. We extend congratulations to W. Fountain, J. Wilson, D. McWilliams and A. T. Carlyon, four of our members who gave a quick response to duty’s call by entering the list of our fighting forces soon after the declaration of war. The following were the winners of the club’s titles: Men’s senior championship, W. Fountain, runner-up, J. Wilson; junior championship, D. G. Howells, runner-up, A. T. Carlyon; Shield, W.
