BOUND FOR SOLWAY
PROCESSION THROUGH TOWN
CAVALCADE OF TRANSPORT
CROWDS LINE MAIN STREET.
In glorious sunshine the vehicular portion of the procession which had assembled in Wrigley Street, moved ofl via Queen Street, headed by the Masterton Municipal Band to join the balance of the procession at Solway to complete the grand parade and cavalcade of transport around the show ring. Although, as was to have been expected, largo numbers had already proceeded to the Showgrounds, a big proportion oi the community held back to enjoy to the full the first glimpse of the procession. Consequently the streets and all corners were lined with enthusiastic and expectant crowds. At the showgrounds all primary and secondary school children, after assembly at 1.30 p.m.. paraded around the show ring carrying the banners of their respective schools and took up their allotted positions in front of the grandstand io witness the arrival of the centennial procession. .
