ABOUT STEEL WOOL

An old indiarubber ball, about the size of a tennis ball or smaller, if cut evenly in half, makes two useful holders for pads of steel wool. The rubber gives a good grip, it is clean to handle, and it saves the fingers from being pricked or cut by the wool. Steel wool, used dry, is effective for removing marks from parquet flooring. It should be rubbed along the grain of the wood.
