The New Zealand Stock Exchange has received cabled advice from the Australian Iron and Steel Co announcing its intention to declare a dividend, payable on May 1 this year, on preference shares, for the two and a half years ending on May 1, 1940, at the rate of 7J per cent per annum, subject to a reduction of 221 per cent under the Interest Reduction Act. Advice has also been received that the Central Mine at Broken Hill ceases productive operations on March 21. CHRISTCHURCH CHRISTCHURCH. This Day.
