The Country Party conference in Canberra today agreed to accept the Prime Minister’s proposal for the formation of a United Australia Party and Country Party coalition government. Tne Country Party will have five members in the Ministry—three full portfolios and two assistant-Min-isterships.

The Prime Minister, Mr Menzies, is retaining the right to nominate Ministers, but promises the fullest consultation with Mr Cameron. A coalition of the United Australia Party and the Country Party will have a clear majority in the Australian. Parliament, though the Labour Party holds slightly more seats than either of them separately.
