ARRANGEMENTS FOR SPORTS MEETING CENTENNIAL WEEK ATTRACTION. PROCESSION AND DISPLAYS. Masterton primary schools will hold their annual sports meeting on the Park Oval on Friday, March 15, commencing at 9 a.m. This year’s gathering is a Centennial Week attraction. The following is the programme of events:— Boys’ events: 9 a.m.: Senior long jump; 9.15 a.m., junior long jump; 9.30 a.m., senior high jump; 9.45 a.m., junior high jump;. 10 a.m., 50yds under 8 (heats); 10.5 a.m., 50yds 8 and under 9 (heats); 10.5 a.m., 50yds 8 and under 10 (heats, 10.25 a.m.. 75yds 10 and under 11 (heats); 10.35 a.m., milk supply; 10.50, 75yds 11 and under 12 (heats): 11 a.m., 100yds 12 and under 13 (heats); 11.10 a.m., 100yds 13 and under 14 (heats); 11.15 a.m., 100yds 14 and under 15; 11.20 a.m., 100yds open (heats); 11.35 a.m., junior relay; 11.45 a.m., senior cricket ball throw, and junior cricket ball throw. Girls’ events: 9 a.m.. senior basketball relay; 9.20 a.m.. junior basketbail relay; 9.40 a.m., tunnel ball; 10 a.m.. 50yds under 8 (heats); 10.5 a.m., 50yds 8 and under 9 (heats); 10.15 a.m., 50yds 9 and under 10 (heats); 10.25 a.m., 65 yds 10 and under 11 (heats): 10.35 a.m.. milk supply; 10.50 a.m., 75yds 11 and under 12 (heats); 11 a.m.. 75yds 12 and under 13 (heats); 11.10 a.m., 75yds 13 and over; 11.15 a.m.. 75yds skipping under 10 (heats); 11.25 a.m.. 75yds skipping 10 and under 12 (heats); 11.40 a.m., 75yds skipping 12 and under 15 (heats); 11.50 junior relay. Afternoon programme:—l.ls p.m., pupils assemble in Worksop Road in the following order: Near Wagg’s Garage, Central Band, Maori pupils. Central, St Patrick’s, Whatman; Knox Church side, West Band. West. Lansdowne. Solway, Te Ore Ore, Gladstone. March through town to Oval. 2 p.m., display by Maori pupils of Te Ore Ore and Gladstone.
2.15 p.m., finals, boys under 8, girls under 8; boys under 9, girls under 9; boys under 10. girls under 10; boys under 11, girls under 11; boys under 12. girls under 12; boys under 13; girls under 13; boys under 14: girls skip under 10: girls skip under 12; girls skip under 15; boys 100yds open; senior girls relay; senior boys relay. 3.15 p.m., girls’ folk dancing display; 3.30 p.m.. boys’ and girls’ massed drill display.
