CHURCH SERVICES

The chart lecture will be continued tomorrow night, at 7 o'clock, in the Gospel Hall. Ruhamah, Queen' Street, the subject being a most interesting one: “The Wilderness Journey and the Crossing of Jordan into the Promised Land.”

The services at the Salvation Army tomorrow will be conducted by Lieutenant Phillips in the morning, and at night by Major Mahaffie. The Major will take for his subject tomorrow night a message for this time of our Centennial celebration, entitled "Getting Back to the Land Marks." This will prove to be a timely message, and a challenge to our Christian faith. All are heartily invited to the Army’s bright services. At the Methodist Church tomorrow special remembrance services will be held, marking the Centennial. At the morning service two local preachers will be dedicated to their work, and this service will be followed by Holy Communion, conducted by the Rev. Frederick J. Parker. At the evening service, Mr Parker will speak on the subject, "Our Centennial Remembrance.”

At the Kuripuni Methodist Church, Harvest Festival will be celebrated at evening service at 7 o'clock, when the preacher will be Mr C. R. Goudge. A. reminder is given of the festival gathering and sale on Monday, at 7.30 p.m. A special harvest festival service will be held at Rangitumau at 1.45 p.m.. the Rev. Fred. J. Parker conducting the service, and the special soloist being Miss Doreen Jamieson. At the Lansdowne Presbyterian Church tomorrow four elders will be ordained at the morning service, which will be followed by Communion. The Mauriceville West service has been cancelled owing to the Centennial thanksgiving service in the Masterton Park.

The services of the'Masterton Baptist Fellowship, to be held in the Y.M.C.A. tomorrow will be conducted by Rev. W. E. Lambert, of Wellington, who is well-known throughout this Dominion as a minister of the Baptist denomination, a forceful speaker, and keenly interested in the efforts of the local Baptists to establish a church in this town. Good congregations are expected, and all will receive a cordial welcome to the meetings.

Special Centennial celebrations will be held at St. Matthew's Church tomorrow. The Ven. Archdeacon E. J. Rich will preach in the morning on "The Pioneers." and in the evening on “National Ideals." The Rev. T. V. Pearson will preach at Kuripuni. and the Rev. V. W. Joblin will conduct a harvest festival service at Upper Plain.
