CARTERTON
PERSONAL ITEMS ("Times-Age” Special.) Mrs E. Smith and daughters, of Tyne Street, who have been visiting Napier, returned to Carterton yesterday. Mr Chas. Holland, of Garrison Street, who underwent a serious operation in Napier Public Hospital, returned to Carterton on Thursday. Mr Tom Harp, who is in the Air Force and who was at Wigram. Christchurch, has been transferred to the Bulls aerodrome. Mr Peter Anderson, who recently met with a motor accident and who is an inmate of Croydon Hospital, is progressing well. Mr and Mrs F. R. Clapcott, of Rexwood Street, Carterton, left by car this morning, taking their up-to-date caravan and boat, for Cape Palliser lighthouse, where they will enjoy a holiday at the seaside. Gunner Gavin Bassett, son of Mr and Mrs Thos. Bassett, of Hilton Road, Carterton, who has been attached to the Royal Artillery Corps at Fort Dorset, Wellington, for the past 9 months, has been transferred to Trentham for advanced gunnery experience.
