ANNUAL MEETING BEING HELD IN FINE WEATHER GOOD SPORT ENJOYED BY LARGE CROWD. GALTEEMORE WINS THE CUP. Beautifully fine weather prevails today for the annual mooting of the Carterton Racing Club. The course is in good order and there is a large attendance. Results up tn the time of going lo press are:— MAIDEN PLATE: six furlongs. 1„ Authoress (P. Atkins). 8.12 1 7, Batsham (J. Hayes), 8.12 2 11, Locrian (P. Burgess). 8.5 3 Won by four lengths: Ij lengths between second and third. Time, 1.16 3-5. Also started: 2, Balgowlah. 8.12; 8. Golden Wattle. 8.12; 12. Manahau. 8.12; 10, Rose Mimetic. 8.12; 3. St. Grace. 8.12; 5, Lady Govern. 8.5; !). Maharajah, 8.5; 6. Tractometer, 8.5; 10. Yurilla, 8.5. Balgowlah was fourth. Authoress jumped out at the start and led all the way. At the start she was followed by Balgowlah. Locrian, Maharajah and Tractometer. At. the, half-mile post the order was: Authoress, Batsham (moving up fast), Tractometer, Locrian (also moving up fast). Balgowlah, Rose Mimetic. Lady Govern. Coming down the straight. Authoress was still, well out in front, followed by Batsham, Locrian. Balgowlah and then, after a big gap. by Rose Mimetic and Lady Govern. CARRINGTON HTGHWETGTIT; Im. 80yds. 1. Ruling Star, 9.10 (J. Won bj' three-quarters of a length; two lengths between second aitd third. Lacan was fourth. Time, Imin. 49sec. Backblock. Kehua. Primax and Ruling Star led at the start, but at (he halfmile post. Kehua had headed the field, followed by Dark Water with Ruling Star moving up fast. Gallecmore showed up at the start, followed by Trebor. Dainty Sue, Good Son, Siegmund and Tooley Street. Dainty Sue cased up when half the distance had been covered and Galteerr.ore won by a good margin from Trebor. though Siegmund finished fast to secure third place.
