RANGITUMAU

WOMEN’S DIVISION MONTHLY MEETING. (“Times-Age" Special.) The monthly meeting of the Rangitumau branch’of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union was held in the Rangitumau Hall yesterday. Mrs D. James presided over a good attendance of members. Competition results were: Apple jelly, Mrs Macdonald 1, Mrs Duckett 2. One bloom: Miss I. Harvey 1, Mrs Duckett 2. Three blooms: Mrs Duckett 1, Miss I. Harvey 2. Final arrangements were made for the branch’s first flower show for which a large number of entries have already been received. This is to be held on Tuesday next. The following stewards were appointed: .Flowers, Mrs Duckett and Miss J. McLachlan; fancywork, Miss Kemble; vegetables. Mrs Stuart and Mrs McGovern; cooking, Mrs Macdonald and Mrs T. McLachlan.

The competitions for April will be: Pikelets, plate of 6; shoulder spray.
