LADIES’ GUILD
BUSINESS AT MONTHLY MEETING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The monthly meeting of St Luke’s Ladies’ Guild was held in the Parish Hall yesterday. In the absence of the president. Mrs York, the vice-president, Mrs Rees, occupied the chair. The secretary read a letter from the Matron of All Saints’ Home, Palmerston North, thanking the guild for a parcel of children's frocks. Mrs Rees expressed regret at the news of Miss York’s ill health and wished her a speedy recovery. ■ Mrs Shedden reported the indisposition of Mrs Sykes, and was instructed by the members to convey to her their best wishes for her early recovery. Final arrangements were made for the Garden Party on March 16. At the close of the meeting afternoon tea was served. Personal. Miss Mavis Montgomerie, of the Patea Hospital nursing staff, is spending a few days with her parents, Mr and Mrs E. Montgomerie, Cross Line. Morison’s Bush. Mrs G. Maloney, of McMaster Street, leaves by tonight’s steamer express for Christchurch.
