FAREWELL TEA
TENDERED TO NURSE EDWARDS. ("Times-Age” Special.) On Monday evening last a very pleasant function was held in the dining room at the South Wairarapa Hospital, Greytown, which was filled to capacity, when Miss Higginson (Matron). Sisters and Nurses arranged a farewell tea to Nurse Edwards, in view of her approaching marriage. The tables were delightfully decorated with a profusion of beautiful flowers and were arranged by Sister Hughes. After tea the Matron, on behalf of the Nurses, referred to the happy relations that had always existed between the guest of honour and the staff of the hospital. They were all sorry Nurse Edwards was leaving them, but they all wished her a very happy future and asked her to accept a hanging mirror. Special gifts were also received from Miss Higginson and Sisters, Dr Oakey’ and Nurse Rosingrave. Nurse Edward thanked everyone for their kindness in giving her a farewell tea, the Matron for her kind remarks and all for their splendid gifts. Among those present were Dr Oakey, Dr Stone, Mr Eager. Mr Woodley. J. Wenden and T. Quinn.
