FIGHTING SERVICES
WELFARE FUND APPEAL. COMPLETION OF CAMPAIGN PLANS. Last night in the Y.M.C.A. the committee which has been formulating and preparing the Fighting Services Welfare Fund campaign to be launched on Saturday, met the captains and team members of the groups ready to make the house to house appeal. In addition to those which have been mentioned, another team was offered from the Women Teachers' Association and Mr S. E. Burridge. Mr J. H. Handyside outlined the points that captains and collectors should keep in mind. Mr G. Masters urged the workers to give every ounce cf energy and enthusiasm to the cause and to keep before them all the time the soldiers who are serving. Later the captains were provided with particulars of the streets and bouses they were expected to canvass and their enthusiasm was infectious. These volunteers have an arduous and exacting task before them during next week and members of the public are requested to make things easier for them by giving freely, largely and willingly. It is pointed out that this appeal is not for the Y.M.C.A.. it is not for the Salvation Army, it is for our soldiers.
