PONGAROA SALE
Messrs Dalgety and Company Limited report that at the Pongaroa Sale on Saturday a good yarding of some 3000 sheep came forward'to an average attendance of local farmers. Buyers were also present from Pahia'tua and Wanganui districts, and wc are able to report a total clearance under the hammer at late rates. Prices were:—Fiveyear ewes made from 17s 6d to 19s 6d, others 16s. Six-year ewes, according to condition and quality, realised from 13s to 15s 9d. Two-tooth ewes in small lots sold under keen competition at 22s to 235. Small hold-over two-tooth ewes, 16s to 18s 6d and 19s. Four-tooth ewes, 15s to 17s 9d, while a line of sixtooth and eight-tooth ewes realised 17s 4d. Average woolly ewe lambs made 14s to 16s Id. and similar wether lambs 10s 6d to Ils. Better sorts up to 14s 4d. Dairy cows close to profit £lO, weancr heifer £1 Ils.
