MAURICEVILLE GATHERING HORSE AND OTHER EVENTS. I , COMPLETE LIST OF I PRIZE-WINNERS. i ("Times-Age” Special.) ii The Mauriceville District Sports Club held a most successful meeting on ; Saturday on a new ground lent by Mr . I. D. Cameron. The suitability of the ground was favourably commented upon by spectators and competitors. Although other attractions caused a falling off in attendance there was a large gathering of competitors. A lengthy programme was decided without a hitch, due to the good work ol all officials. Mr F. Tildesley and the horse steward and the secretary, Mr J. C. Bennett, besides all officials, deserve every credit for the success of the meeting. Mr B. R. McGuinness’s Scout was successful in winning the open jump and taking the new Dawson Cup. The points competitions were won by Mi J. Henson, Miss P. Swanson and Miss M. Swanson. Mr Henson won the Heckler Challenge Cup from Mr H. George, who had held it for several years. Baine capably carried out the duties of M.'sC The Blue River Band supplied excellent music. Supper was served by f hard-working ladies' committee, convened by Mrs W. H. Bird. The suppot room and tables were tastefully decorated with the club colours, green and gold. Mr Bird thanked all who had sc willingly helped in making the function such a success.
